Georgia Divorcing Families Program

New Encounters Counseling provides the original court approved Divorce Education program for Richmond, Columbia and Burke Counties.  The program is a requirement for those going through the divorce process and was specially developed by the court system in 1993 with the community in mind. This four-hour court approved course for divorcing parents offers support and educational information that will discuss the effects of divorce on parents and children. The goal is to reduce the effects of divorce on children by equipping you as the parent with information and coping skills to reduce your stress, thus reducing your child’s stress. Your child’s best interest is the main focus of the information provided to you.
